The Edge of Spring

March 30, 2014 By sheilab Leave a Comment

The thaw rings at the base of the trees behind our house drew me outsite today

Melting at the base of the trees on the back hillside

TheĀ  house has a thaw ring of about one-and-a-half ft. with moss and other signs of green growth. Much of the green was coated in ice from the dripping from the eaves but green is green.

Highs in the 50s today and rain tomorrow. Stay tuned for mud season.

No sign of spring here
No sign of spring out front.
You still have to look close for signs of the coming thaw.
The best evidence of spring lays in the micro world close to the house
There is green to be had next to the house.

Merv took this one of the snowbank formed by snow sliding off the roof of the barn 3 days ago. My bet is it will be gone April 25th, Merv has his money on May 5th.
